Israel’s military on Wednesday acknowledged it had dedicated a “grave mistake” when it killed seven help staff from a US charity in an air strike in Gaza.

“This incident was a grave mistake,” Israeli Defence Forces chief Herzi Halevi mentioned in a video message on X, blaming “a misidentification -— at night time throughout a battle in very complicated situations”.

“It should not have occurred,” he added.
